Leadpages has been in existence since 2008, and while the service has certainly evolved and changed over time, their main goal remains:  to help budding entrepreneurs create stunning landing pages that aid in helping them gain conversions.

Over time, additional services have been added in that respect, and as of early 2019, users could use Leadpage’s services and templates to design an entire website.

Let’s take an in-depth look at how Leadpages works, as well as some of the pros and cons, in order to help you decide if this service should be part of your marketing business plan.

Overview of Leadpages

What Does Leadpages Do?

In a snapshot, the most popular uses for Leadpages include the creation of Leadboxes, Leadlinks, and Leaddigits.  These are, of course, Leadpage-branded terms, so let’s take a look at what each of these entails.

  • Leadboxes are custom pop-up forms that you design.  They can appear automatically, or based on an action the visitor to your webpage made.
  • Leadlinks allow interested parties who already subscribe to your website and newsletter to sign up for offers or sublist subscriptions via a single link.
  • Leaddigits allow visitors to opt in to an email list or automated text messages via their mobile phones.

The process is not dissimilar to using a WordPress webpage builder.  Leadpages is free from any user coding, and allows you to use the drag-and-drop method to create your pages.

You’ll even have the ability to drag and click to change the sizes and locations of images, text boxes, and call-to-action buttons within the pages you create.  In fact, there’s even a dedicated WordPress plugin, allowing you to easily integrate the pages you create in Leadpages into your existing website.

Review of the main features

How Does It Work?

All of the functions of Leadpages are clearly laid out for you.  You’ll have the ability to choose from hundreds of templates to get you started, or create your pages from scratch.

The widgets that are the building blocks of your pages, including adding buttons and text, are all laid out for you to browse as you make your decisions.

The Page Layout tab provides a grid foundation to help you choose the best placement for all of the details in your page.  Page Styles let you peruse a variety of fonts, color themes, background images, and other visual items that will help your page stand apart from the others.

Page Tracking is also a very helpful feature that lets you view some basic analytics.  It’s not as robust as any of the SEO plug-ins you might already be using, but it provides a helpful load of information when getting rudimentary information about your new page’s performance.

From this section, you can actually create split tests for your landing pages, with a simple click of a button that allows you to choose the control page and create various versions or edit the existing text to conduct A/B testing right away.

Pricing: Available Plans

How Much Does Leadpages Cost?

Like many programs, the monthly cost of Leadpages depends on the level of services you choose to have integrated with your usage.  All levels do offer a 14 day free trial, which will allow you the opportunity to see if the software works will with your skill level and website capabilities.

The Standard Level comes in at $37 per month, and includes:

  • Unlimited landing pages
  • Pop-ups and alert bars
  • Unlimited traffic and leads
  • Free hosting
  • Professional Mobile-friendly templates
  • Facebook and Instagram ad builders
  • Lead notifications
  • Round-the-clock support

This plan also includes the registration of up to three sites, the functionality to promote online sales from the pop up you create, unlimited A/B split testing, email trigger links, and the ability to create up to ten opt-in text campaigns.  With such a robust package, it’s easy to see how this package has become the most popular amongst up-and-coming businesses.

The Pro Level is geared more towards serious marketing strategists, and includes features many new business owners won’t necessarily need right off the bat, but can be helpful to larger companies that are trying to enrich their overall marketing program.

Up to 50 websites can be supported by this package, to give you some idea of the scope.  The Advanced Level costs $74 per month and includes all of the Standa Level features, plus advanced integrations that allow users to link to Salesforce, Hubspot, Marketo, and more, 5 sub-accounts, 50 extra Leaddigits campaigns, and access to one-on-one sessions with a specialist who can help get you started.

Opinion

Is It Worth It?

Like any service, Leadpages is only as good as the user, but it’s easy-to-use interface makes it possible for nearly anyone to get the swing of using the tools provided.  With a large collection of free templates, and an even broader variety of paid templates, it is very likely that you’ll find a format that works for your pages.

In fact, you might like it enough to build an entire conversion-based website with Leadpages’ tools.  Since the site is designed to gain leads and inspire conversions, it is designed with marketing in mind.

The widgets, which are both easy to find and easy to understand, offer enough tools to build a high-quality landing page.  A/B testing and two-step opt-ins are also easy to create, and the built-in analytics can help users get their bearings when starting out.

On the downside, even the Standard Level is a little pricey for brand-new business owners.  It also doesn’t offer some of the key features, like A/B testing, which can lead to some very new marketers to be a bit frustrated by the budget-versus-capabilities analysis.

Once a business is flourishing, sure, the budget might be there, but we all know too well the desperation of a new business owner to get those conversions right away!

Conclusion

Conclusion, Score and Free Trial Link

Overall, Leadpages provides a very useful service for small busineses and new entrepreneurs to design a variety of landing pages for their websites.

Since the product is focused on gaining business and conversions, it is very clear that these tools are designed with marketing in mind, making them very helpful for those newer to running a business.

While the cost may put a damper on budgeting, the overall usability and outcomes seem to present a very strong case for Leadpages’ usefulness in the small business world.
